Red Hills Road Drainage Repairs
Reliance Engineering Services were engaged by Goulburn Mulwaree Council to provide engineering support and project superintendency services for the drainage restoration works along Red Hills Road.
The project located near Marulan in New South Wales was funded by the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangement (DRFA) in conjunction with Section 94 development contributions following damaged sustained during in the March 2021 floods.
Red Hill Road intersects with Hume Highway and experiences a large volume of heavy vehicles travelling from Sydney and surrounding local district to nearby the quarries. To prevent further damage to the underlying pavement layers adjacent to eroded table drain, Reliance Engineering Services recommended that a concrete lined drain to Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) specifications be constructed due to the steep longitudinal grade and road classification.
The existing grated inlet pits were incorporated into the design to intersect surface flow and reduce the velocity of stormwater, preventing ongoing erosion.
The project was successful delivered by Divall’s Earthmoving and Bulk Haulage on behalf of Goulburn Mulwaree Council in January 2023.
