Lumley Road Causeway Upgrade

Reliance Engineering Services were engaged by Goulburn Mulwaree Council to provide engineering support and project superintendency services for the Jacqua Creek Causeway upgrade on Lumley Road.
The project located near Bungonia in New South Wales and was funded under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangement (DRFA) following damage sustained to the structure in August 2020.

Prior to the reconstruction works, the site consisted of a multi cell piped culvert structure with a concrete wearing surface. The unsealed causeway approaches sustained damage resulting in a variable pavement formation during flooding.

To provide a permanent and uniform pavement surface during flooding and reduce maintenance costs, the scope of works included:

•  Pavement rehabilitation

• Construction of reinforced concrete edge beams

• Asphalting

• Flood advisory signage

 Reliance Engineering Services provided the following services to Council:

• Prepared conceptual engineering designs for Council review and comment

• Preparation of tendering documentation

• Contract Administration

• Project Management and Superintendency

• Monitoring and enforcing Contractor compliance

 The project was successful delivered by Coopers Earthmoving and Haulage Pty Ltd, Form n Pour Pty Ltd and Downer Pty Ltd and commissioned for opening in March 2024.
