Peelwood Road Drainage Repairs
Reliance Engineering Services were engaged by Upper Lachlan Shire Council to provide engineering support and project superintendency services for the drainage restoration works on Peelwood Road.
The project situated between Laggan and Tuena in New South Wales was funded under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangement (DRFA) following damage sustained in January 2022.
Prior to the reconstruction works, the site consisted of grassed swales however, due to the steep longitudinal grade and heavy rainfall, significant erosion damage was sustained.
To mitigate the potential for ongoing erosion, the scope of works included:
Reconstructing the roadside shoulders
Re grading the table drains along either side of the road to facilitate the installation of rock rip rap.
Installation of rock rip rap to reduce flow velocity
Removal of tree debris from Phil’s River Bridge
Installing precast piped culvert units and headwall
Reliance Engineering provided the following services to Council:
Preparation of tender documentation and evaluation
Contract Administration
Project Superintendency
Monitoring and enforcing Contractor compliance
The project was successful delivered by Coopers Earthmoving and Haulage Pty Ltd and commissioned for opening in February 2024.
