Laggan Taralga Road Drainage Repairs

Reliance Engineering Services were engaged by Upper Lachlan Shire Council to provide project superintendency services for the drainage restoration works on Laggan-Taralga Road.

In 2022, Laggan-Taralga Road sustained significant erosion damage during major storm events causing a loss of formation to roadside drainage network and pavement surface. Laggan-Taralga Road is an important link between the regional townships of Crookwell and Taralga which provides connection to Bathurst and Goulburn.

The restoration works spanned over 28 kilometres and consisted of the following works: 

  • Restoring roadside shoulder formation

  • Re grading the table drains to facilitate the installation of rock rip rap

  • Installation of rock rip rap

  • Restoration of roadside batters

  • Bitumen sealing

Reliance Engineering Services provided the following scope of services to Council:

  • Preparation of tender documentation and evaluation

  • Contract Administration

  • Project Superintendency

  • Quality Control

  • Monitoring and enforcing Contractor compliance

The project was successful delivered by Divall’s Earthmoving Pty Ltd in October 2024.
