Charleys Forest Road Causeway Replacement
Reliance Engineering Services were engaged by Queanbeyan Palerang Regional Council to provide engineering and project superintendency services for the First Curradux Creek causeway upgrade on Charleys Forest Road.
The project located near Mongarlowe in New South Wales and was funded under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangement (DRFA) following damaged sustained to the existing culvert structure in August 2020.
Prior to the reconstruction works, the site consisted of a mult-cell piped culvert structure and an unsealed granular surface.
During recent years, residents along Charleys Forest Road have been restricted from crossing First Curradux Creek due to the variable pavement conditions . To provide greater flooding resilience, Queanbeyan Palerang Regional Council received funding to upgrade the existing culvert structure to a low-lying concrete causeway structure.
Reliance Engineering Services provided the following scope of services to Council:
Engineering technical support
Preparation of conceptual designs
Preparation of tender documentation and evaluation
Contract Administration
Project Management and Superintendency
Quality Control
Monitoring and enforcing Contractor compliance
The project was successful delivered by Divalls Earthmoving and commissioned for opening in August 2021.
