Araluen Road Drainage Repairs
Reliance Engineering Services were engaged by Queanbeyan Palerang Regional Council to provide engineering support and project superintendency services for the drainage restoration works on Araluen Road.
The project situated between Araluen and Braidwood in New South Wales was funded under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangement (DRFA) following damage sustained in the February 2020.
Prior to the reconstruction works, the site consisted of grassed swales however, due to the steep longitudinal grade and heavy rainfall, significant erosion damage was sustained along Araluen Road.
The scope of works included:
Reconstructing the roadside shoulders
Re grading the table drains along either side of the road to facilitate the installation of rock rip rap
Installation of rock rip rap
Culvert cleaning
Reinstating roadside shoulder formation
Gravel resheeting
Causeway repairs
Hydromulching
Reliance Engineering provided the following services to Council:
Preparation of tender documentation and evaluation
Contract Administration
Project Superintendency
Monitoring and enforcing Contractor compliance
The project was successful delivered by Braidwood Soil Conservation Services in August 2021.
