Collector Road Heavy Patching

Reliance Engineering Services were engaged by Goulburn Mulwaree Council to provide engineering support and project superintendency services for the heavy patching repairs along a 6.0km section of Collector Road.

The project located near Tarago in New South Wales was funded Council’s Capital Works Program and S94 Development Contributions.

Collector Road is an important link which is utilised by the Woodlawn Zinc-Cooper Project and Woodlawn Eco Precinct. The Woodlawn Eco Precinct is a multi-facility waste management site which intergrates advanced waste management technology to support the needs of Sydney, Canberra, and the broader area.
When residual waste arrivals from Sydney to the Crisps Creek Intermodal Facility, it is loaded onto heavy vehicles and transported to the precinct.

In recent years, the pavement surface has sustained significant damage caused by increased heavy vehicles movements. To prolong the pavement life, localised insitu stabilising heavy patching was undertaken by Divall’s Earthmoving and Bulk Haulage to repair significant deformation and rutting within the pavement surface.

Reliance Engineering provided the following services to Council:

  • Review of geotechnical investigation report to determine a suitable cost-effective solution for rehabilitating Collector Road

  • Tender preparation and evaluation

  • Contract Administration

  • Project Management and Superintendency

  • Monitoring and enforcing Contractor compliance

The project was successful delivered by Divall’s Earthmoving and Bulk Haulage in February 2023.
