Canyonleigh Road Culvert Upgrade
Reliance Engineering Services were engaged by Goulburn Mulwaree Council to provide engineering support and project superintendency services for the construction of a new causeway on Canyonleigh Road.
The project located near Marulan in New South Wales was funded under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangement (DRFA) following damaged sustained to the structure in February 2020.
Prior to the reconstruction works, the site consisted of a twin cell piped culvert structure and unsealed road which sustained significant damage resulting in road closures following heavy rainfall events.
To provide a permanent and uniform surface during flooding, the scope of works included:
Installing precast piped culvert units and headwalls
Pavement reconstruction to improve the horizontal and vertical alignment
Shotcreting
Asphalting
Rock scour protection
Flood advisory signage
Reliance Engineering provided the following scope of services:
Prepare conceptual designs for Council’s review and comment
Preparation of tender documentation and evaluation.
Project Management and Superintendency.
Quality Control
Monitoring and enforcing Contractor compliance.
The project was successful delivered by Coopers Earthmoving and Haulage Pty Ltd and commissioned for opening in April 2021.
