Bungendore Road Drainage Repairs

Reliance Engineering Services were engaged by Goulburn Mulwaree Council to provide engineering support and project superintendency services for the drainage restoration works along Bungendore Road.

The project located near Tarago in New South Wales was funded under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangement (DRFA) following damaged significant damage sustained during the February 2020.

Located between Bungendore and Tarago, Bungendore Road experiences a large volume of heavy vehicles travelling from Canberra and surrounding local district to nearby the Woodlawn Waste Facility. To prevent further erosion damage to the roadside table drain, Reliance Engineering Services recommended that a concrete lined drain to Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) specifications be constructed due to the steep longitudinal grade.

The drainage restoration works included:

  • Installation of new precast piped culvert units and headwalls

  • Construction of 930m concrete lined SO drain

  • Shotcreting

  • Installation of rock scour protection

  • Shoulder restorations

Reliance Engineering Services provided the following scope of services:

  • Preparation of tender documentation

  • Contractual Administration

  • Project Superintendency

  • Monitoring and enforcing Contractor compliance

The project was successful delivered by Divall’s Earthmoving and Bulk Haulage in September 2020.
