Taralga Road Embankment Repairs
In 2025, Goulburn Mulwaree Council received funding to undertake batter slip restorations works following damaged sustained during the June 2024 floods.
Reliance Engineering Services were engaged by Goulburn Mulwaree Council to assist during the stages of project development and delivery.
In June 2024, heavy rainfall was experienced causing floodwater to overtop the road which saw the underlying soil become saturated, resulting in a batter slip.
Due to the proximity of the traffic lanes, traffic management devices were implemented on Taralga Road to direct traffic away from the unstable batter. This was implemented during the engineering assessment and investigation.
Taralga Road is an important regional road for local residents, connecting the nearby townships of Goulburn and Taralga. Taralga Road is also a critical link connecting the regional centres of Bathurst and Goulburn.
Reliance Engineering Services provided the following scope of services:
Technical engineering support
Preparation of tender documentation and evaluation
Contract administration
Project Superintendency
The project was successful completed by Coopers Earthmoving and Haulage on behalf of Goulburn Mulwaree Council in June 2025.
